Hello, and welcome to my website. I have not done much to it yet, but soon I will fix it up nice.
If anyone would like to contact me, please do not hesitate to do so. My email is markhaggard@hotmail.com
Here is my first amateur fight:
Opponent: Mohn Mar Record: Debut Date: June 09, 2007 Organization: Champion Cage Fighters Location: Midland, MI
I wasn't nervous at all coming into this fight... until I stepped in the cage. My mouth went dry, and my heart was racing. The fight lasted all of fifteen seconds. I had planned to try to stand with him at first, and then take him down if I got into trouble, since I am most comfortable on the ground. But when he tried to slam me he left his neck exposed, so I sunk in the guillotine for the win. I didn't really get too much practice but I did get my first win, which brought confidence.
My second amateur fight:
Opponent: Jason Peterson Record: 3-0 Date: August 04, 2007 Organization: Premier Fighting Championship Location: Flint, MI
I came out this fight hoping to stand and trade this time. The fight started, I threw a low kick that landed, then threw a second, more sloppy low kick that he caught. It was obvious that he wanted to stand with me, but my instinct was to go to the ground. So, I threw a wild hook not meant to do any damage but more to get in the clinch to take him down. After getting him there we fought for control, once I was finally able to gain back control I sunk in the rnc for the W. Watching the video I can't believe how sloppy my striking was. I have never had any formal training so it's not surprising that I need work. However, these are things I have been working extensively on since this fight. I hope to perform much better in my next outing.
I've decided to add a few youtube videos of some of my favorite highlights/fights.
This is one of my favorites.
Rumina Sato's vs Charles Taylor . An amazing submission.
Yves Edwards vs Josh Thomson. One of my favorite knockouts of all time.
Yves Edwards vs James Edson Berto. Another fantastic knockout. Wait until the end of the round.
Travis "The Ironman" Fulton vs Jeremy Bullock - This isn't a great fight or anything, just a brutal knockout
